The Society took part in the Heritage Open Days on Friday and Saturday 14th and 15th September when the Sir Joseph Banks Centre hosted an exhibition of the floral artistry of Miss May Lane-Claypon. Her original watercolours and reproductions were on display. As well as a full set of reproductions of 154 larger studies, two albums of original smaller paintings were available for inspection.
Altogether we had over 800 wildflower watercolours on view. Around 130 visitors came, and many spent a lot of time browsing May’s exquisite work.
Framed or mounted prints of the larger paintings are now available to order from the Society’s website for early delivery.
